For me the greater part of creativity is thought and I've been doing a lot of thinking. Part of what I've been thinking is that I'd better quit obsessing over the graphic novel and start putting out some stuff for people to read. So, I give you a new comic! If you hated Fargo you'll probably hate this joke but then again you probably hate me and won't even read this. If you're still with me, I hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as I did drawing it. I think it's one of my better drawn comics if nothing else.
In the spirit of producing more work and BETTER work I'm going to try and pull double cartooning duty. (I think there's an illustrated poop joke in there somewhere.). I'm going to start by digitizing the rest of The Cheez and put that out ASAP. I've had some requests for that and it's easy, so that will give you all several more strips to read this year in the short term. After that I'm going to try and continue putting out new comics here while I'm working on the novel/comic book. It's going to be hard, but as Walton Goggins said in an interview recently, "Anything worth having is worth putting in the work it takes to get."
As far as the graphic novel goes, I'm still in the plotting stage. I'm hesitant to put pixels to screen because I don't want to have to re-draw it if I change the plot. I'd also like to show it to people before I die. For that reason I think I'm changing the format to a micro comic: 8 pagers that will provide me a little safety net for plot restructuring and give me freedom to explore as I create.
So there you have it....tune in shortly for more releases of The Cheez and as always, THANKS for reading!!
